FL Top Docs Approves Dr. Andrew Simonsen of ENT for Kids ENT for 2026

Dr. Simonsen’s path to pediatric ENT began with a strong foundation in health and science. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa before receiving his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He completed residency training in General Surgery and Otolaryngology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, with additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Simonsen went on to complete a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he trained at Texas Children’s Hospital. This experience allowed Dr. Simonsen to develop specialized expertise in treating children with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions, including more complex cases.
For Dr. Simonsen, caring for children goes beyond treating a medical condition. His approachable personality and family-centered philosophy help create an environment where both children and parents feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their care.
His commitment to the field also extends beyond the exam room. Dr. Simonsen is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed journal articles as well as a textbook chapter on nasal septoplasty, reflecting his interest in education, research, and continued advancement in otolaryngology.
Dr. Simonsen is also an active member of the Northeast Florida community. He regularly supports local initiatives and family-focused organizations, including participation in the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville’s annual “Buddy Walk.”
Through his combination of specialized pediatric training, clinical experience, and genuine connection with the families he serves, Dr. Simonsen is dedicated to helping children breathe easier, sleep better, and feel their best.
