She went on to complete a two-year APPCN post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Leal’s prior clinical experience includes a neurorehabilitation externship at Jackson Memorial Hospital – Ryder Trauma Center, as well as a neuropsychology externship at the University of Miami – Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Leal also gained valuable experience during a year of clinical practice at the Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital in the inpatient psychiatric acute crisis unit. Throughout her career, she has worked with inpatients in acute stages, rehabilitation settings, and outpatients, also providing individual and group therapy to those with a wide range of psychiatric and neurological conditions.
Dr. Leal is committed to ongoing professional development and is an active member of several national and international associations. She has also made significant contributions to the field through research presentations at national conferences and the publication of several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles.
