Born in Jackson, New Jersey, he attended The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. During his time in college, Dr. Cascione also conducted research at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1985 to 1987, further honing his interest in medical research.
Dr. Cascione went on to attend the University of Vermont College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. Following medical school, he completed a medical internship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He then pursued his neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the prestigious Duke University Medical Center. After completing his training, Dr. Cascione began his private practice at Tampa Neurology Associates in 1996, and later opened the South Tampa MS Center in 2001, further establishing his commitment to MS care.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Cascione serves as the Vice-President of Axiom Clinical Research of Florida, where he leads and participates in a wide range of clinical trials. With more than 300 clinical trials in multiple sclerosis and other neurologic conditions under his belt, Dr. Cascione has become a well-known figure in the field of MS research.
Dr. Cascione’s contributions to the medical field have not gone unnoticed. He has been named one of Tampa’s Top Doctors by his peers in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, as recognized by Tampa Magazine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
