With over 25 years of clinical experience and dual residency training in pediatrics and dermatology, Dr. Duarte brings unparalleled expertise and a holistic approach to skin care. Her leadership at the Children’s Skin Center ensures that each patient—from infants to adults—receives expert, tailored treatment in a warm and welcoming environment.
In addition to her clinical excellence, Dr. Duarte serves as the Director of Dermatology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and at The International Birthmark Institute. Her affiliation with Nicklaus Children’s provides access to advanced pediatric surgical facilities and the support of a globally recognized pediatric institution. Dr. Duarte is also well known for her expertise in laser treatments. She uses cutting-edge technology, including the pulse-dye laser to treat vascular birthmarks, the Fraxel laser to reduce the appearance of scars, and the CO2 laser to treat specific skin growths like epidermal nevi.
Named the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation’s 2016 Physician of the Year, Dr. Duarte is widely respected not only for her clinical expertise but also for her commitment to community health. A lifelong South Florida resident, she actively promotes sun safety, skin cancer awareness, anti-bullying efforts, and public health education through partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and media outlets.
